Engineering Drawing and Related Documentation Practices

Drawing Templates in this section are based upon the American Society of Mechanical Engineers ASME Y14 American National Standard for Engineering Drawing and Related Documentation Practices. These standards represent the drawing practices used by U.S. industry. The ASME Y14 practices supersede the American National Standards Institute ANSI standards. The ASME Y14 Engineering Drawing and Related Documentation Practices are published by The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, New York, NY. References to the current ASME Y14 standards are used with permission. Only a portion of the ASME Y14 American National Standard for Engineering Drawing and Related Documentation Practices are presented in this book. Information presented in Projects 1 - 5 represent sample illustrations of a drawing, view and or dimension type. The ASME Y14 Standards Committee develops and maintains additional Drawing Standards. Rotate the object

We design changes or we pull the wrong angle, we may need to rotate one or more objects that we make.we can easily rotate an object or objects around the basic point that we specify.Base point is usually the object snap points on the object. To demonstrate the rotation, determine the angle of rotation.By default, the zero is to the right, and increased degrees if counter-clockwise. To change the default, select Format> Units By setting a negative angle, we can change the object clockwise. To rotate the object, choose Rotate from the Modify toolbar and select one object. Alternatively, select the object and then select Rotate from the Modify toolbar. Specify base point: prompt, indicating a point about what we want to play. Specify rotation angle or [Copy / Reference]: prompt, type the angle on the command line. Use the Copy option to make a copy of the original object. Once we use the copy option, the prompt return of the same so that we can determine the angle of ro...

Callouts and Handles in Solidworks

Callout solidworks are boxes of text that appear in the graphic area when we use certain tools. Makes it easy for us to click, move, and adjust parameters dynamically without leaving the graphic area. Callouts help distinguish different entities. For example, info that shows the profile of a sweep and sweep path. We can do it by dragging to reposition it, but we cannot use it to change the property of the entity they are referring to. Some info, such as for chamfers, will display numbers that you can edit or change to manipulate the size of the entity. The long span handle is extruded. Drag the handle to the desired extrusion depth, and the handle covers the length.
